What we clean
Three services.
One standard.
Carpet liquid dry cleaning, upholstery cleaning and commercial maintenance programs. The list is short on purpose, because every job on it gets the same method and the same walkthrough before anyone leaves.
01 · Carpet
Carpet Liquid Dry Cleaning
Top Hat specialises in low moisture liquid dry cleaning. It is the method behind the large majority of our work and the real difference between us and most of the competition in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Petroleum and organic soils track in on shoes every single day and work down into the fiber. The liquid dry cleaning solution strips and encapsulates that soil, then it is lifted out, leaving the carpet residue free and far less likely to re-soil quickly.
Where soil is ground in deep, in entryways and established traffic lanes, that is followed with a targeted acid rinse and a hot or cool water extraction pass. The method is chosen for what the carpet in front of us actually needs, not for what is fastest to set up.

02 · Upholstery
Upholstery Cleaning
Couches, sectionals, accent chairs and dining seats, cleaned with the method matched to the fabric that is actually in front of us. Upholstery is far less forgiving than carpet: the wrong approach shrinks it, bleeds the color, or leaves it stiff and crunchy to sit on.
Delicate and valuable pieces are where this matters most. Velvet, mohair and vintage frames get handled with the care their age and value deserve, and wood frames are never over-saturated in a way that loosens glue or warps a joint.

Commercial Maintenance Programs
Top Hat maintains carpet for athletic clubs, restaurants and steakhouses, national fast casual locations, dental and physical therapy offices, electrical and mechanical contractors, funeral homes, entertainment venues, and manufacturing facilities where shop floor traffic runs straight through carpeted offices.
Commercial carpet does not wear like the carpet in a house. In a home, most people take their shoes off and the traffic is intermittent. In a building, the same people walk the same line every day in the shoes they arrived in, and traffic lanes develop fast.
That is why this is sold as a schedule rather than an appointment. Regular visits keep the floor presentable year round and stop the grit from permanently abrading the fiber, which is damage no cleaning can undo later.

A bowling center owner had brought in several carpet cleaning companies before us. Not one of them gave him a quote. Every one of them told him the same thing: this is not a cleaning job, it is a replacement job, and there is nothing we can do for you.
Our offer was simple. Let us take a run at it. The worst case is that it does not come clean, and it is not going to get any dirtier than it already is.
